Heat falls to unbeaten Chicago, 13-7

HARRISBURG - Tom Mellor picked up another hat trick but the Harrisburg Heat surrendered four fouth period goals in a 13-7 loss to the undefeated Chicago Mustangs at the Equine Arena.
Mellor scored all of his goals in the game’s first 33 minutes before sitting out the rest of the game with a leg injury.
The loss dropped the Heat’s record to 4-8 with four games remaining as they try to catch the Cincinnati Saints (4-7) and Detroit Waza (6-5) for the final two playoff berths in the Professional Arena Soccer League’s Eastern Division.
Heat forward Chris Hall had another goal, his fourth in four games since the Lebanon Valley graduate joined the team. David Schofield added three assists for the Heat while Kenneth Fultz had a goal and an assist.
The game was the first of three meetings this season between the teams. Harrisburg faces Chicago again on Saturday at the Equine Arena at 7:05. The game will likely be the final home match for retiring coach Richard Chinapoo.
Miguel Vaca and Bryan Moya each had four goals for the league-leading Mustangs (11-0).
Fultz and Mellor each have a team-leading 17 goals for the Heat.
The Heat also announced it will be moving back to itsoriginal home inside the State Farm Show Complex’s Large Arena. The 7,300-seat Large Arena had been the home to original Heat from 1991-2003. The Heat, on their return to pro indoor soccer in 2012, moved into the 2,200-seat Equine Arena before their inaugural season in the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL).
