Man charged for false robbery report

York Area Regional Police have charged a man for making a false robbery report.

Officers were called to the Tom's Store on East Main Street in Dallastown on Tuesday morning. The clerk told police he was alone and was opening the store when four unknown men entered wearing masks and hoodies.  The clerk said one of the suspects went into a back room and the other three suspects approached the counter and demanded cash. The clerk also told police one of the suspects had his hand inside his pocket, gesturing that he was armed.

During the investigation, police determined there was no robbery. Raffensberger allegedly had taken the money himself and falsely reported the robbery to police.

Police say Raffensberger admitted to the false report and was charged with theft and false reports to law enforcement.
